I’ve fallen into the ill space disco hole where I’m just jamming on intergalactic space jams like 25/7 (extra hour added for all the near light speed travel). I’m not exactly sure what brought around such a bout of cosmic musical discovery, maybe it was because I’ve spent mad time looking at pics of 60s/70s  space age design for my apartment’s redecoration. Maybe it was all those nights I’ve been going to sleep too the Blade Runner Score by Vangelis. Or maybe it’s been me rereading/listening to Brian Greene’s quantum physics for dummies styled Fabric of The Cosmos, either way space is the place to be! But you don’t have to take my word for it, werd to Reading Rainbow.

First we have France’s own SPACE. Way before Daft Punk & Justice there was SPACE, who besides having the best name for their genre since Death pioneered Death Metal are also just ridiculously sick with the synth’d out space jams.  Their catalog ranges from the four on the floor sexy time joints to more lounging pensive joints, that are perfect to serve as background music while you make out to space documentaries projected onto your wall. Or maybe you write Actionscript code to their jams, however you do its all good.  Check out their albums Magic FlyDeliverance & Just Blue.

Next up Canada’s favourite son who produced crazy disco hits Gino Soccio (please say the baby).  During the 70’s and 80’s dude was a machine of sexy extended disco heat, its kinda like how between 05 and 07 when Lil Wayne put out a about 8 million amazing songs about Gremlins and fresh fruit and what kinda chicks he liked and they were all awesome. Except Gino Soccio just dropped sexy disco/space disco sounds for the kids to dance too.  I have a feeling all his power came from his luxurious hair and powerful stache as we can see in the video above.  Just look at the video above and tell me you dont wanna put on an all white ensemble and just go hard (||) with some chick wearing glitter on her face and some metallic half shirt. If those synth stabs and that beat dont move you, you might be a terrorist. Check out Face to Face, Closer and Outline from the dude amongst dudes Soccio.

DROIDS, also from France. Seriously just look at the video, Robot Suits, Interpertive disco dance, a song called The Force, sequins and mad twirling.  If you did this today you’d be mad corny, but because this was 1975 these dudes are LEGENDARY.

Bonus Soccio jam It’s Alright, the change at 2:35 is kinda so smooth you don’t even realize that you just got did.
