YES! The Road movie is finally going to see the light of day. This book may be one of the bleakest things I’ve digested in a long time. It’s just the story of a father and son walking on a road post apocalypse, straight up bleary hell of starvation and desperation occasionally broken up by someone trying to kill them. I’m eager to see how they made this into a two hour movie going experience considering that fairly little happens in the book plot wise, but instead its more about experiencing the father’s attempt at survival and ultimately the relationship between a father and son. It would seem they added a couple more action beats for the movie version and are trying to sell it as a more gritty version of I Am Legend. Im not too mad at that, as long as when I leave the movie I still feel like someone kicked me in the stomache because I just watched the end of the world, told as raw as possible.
